Former Trellis chef/owner Marcel Desaulniers will return to his old haunt for a March 16 wine dinner. It’s the first of two special March events at the Williamsburg restaurant located on Duke of Gloucester Street.
Desaulniers will join David Everett, the current Trellis chef/owner, and Dennis Cakebread of Cakebread Cellars, a Napa Valley winery that has been in existence since 1973. Cakebread will present a selection of his award-winning wines, and Everett and his staff will create a dinner to accompany them.
Desaulniers and Everett are both alumni of Cakebread’s American Harvest Workshop, an annual event that brings together top chefs, artisan food producers, and consumers to cook and talk about American food and wine.
Tickets to the Trellis wine dinner are $100, plus tax & gratuity. NOTE: Seating is limited. Reservations can be made online at www.thetrellis.com.
A couple of weeks later, March 30, the Trellis will present “Only the Very Best – The Wines of Sonoma-Cutrer Vineyards.”
Director of Winemaking Mick Schroeter will share the history and methods of his legendary winery. Everett will team up with Chef du Cuisine Scott Hoyland from the Blue Talon Bistro to create dishes to accompany the wines.
Tickets are $85 per person, plus tax & gratuity. NOTE: Seating is limited. They can be purchased online at www.thetrellis.com.
