Jazz Great Chick Corea to Perform During Festival Williamsburg

The Virginia Arts Festival announced its season, including the popular “Festival Williamsburg,” Thursday at the Williamsburg Inn.

The annual Festival Williamsburg is part of the Virginia Arts Festival’s 15th anniversary season.

The events are scheduled over the Memorial Day weekend, next May, primarily at the Williamsburg Lodge.

Pianist Andre-Michel Schub will open the local events at 10:30 a.m., May 26 at the Williamsburg Winery.

“An Evening with Chick Corea and Gary Burton” is scheduled for 8 p.m., Friday, May 27 in the Virginia Room of the Williamsburg Lodge. The jazz legends have collaborated for the past 35 years.

The contemporary swing revival band “Big Bad Voodoo Daddy,” will perform at 8 p.m., Saturday, May 28 in the Virginia Room.

Festival Williamsburg will cap with a pair of performances by Tony Award-winner Jane Krakowski at 5:30 and 8 p.m., Sunday, May 29 in the Virginia Room. Krakowski was the winner of the 2003 Tony Award for her role in the Broadway musical “Nine,” opposite Antonio Banderas. She also appears on the hit TV show “30 Rock.”
