Smartphone users visiting the Historic Triangle now have quick access to information for everything from restaurants and attractions to current events and services like auto repair, banks and healthcare facilities as the Greater Williamsburg Chamber & Tourism Alliance introduces its area-wide mobile website. The new site, accessed at http://Wmsbg.mobi, provides easy one-click navigation on icons for attractions, dining, lodging, maps, services, community and business events, plus coupons and seasonal offerings, beginning with Christmas.
Among the convenient features provided by the mobile site is that each listing includes one-click links to a map of the individual location, its website and automatic dialing to its telephone number. Coupons provided by Alliancemembers will allow users to simply display the coupon’s image on their smartphones to obtain discounts. The site also enables searching by keyword; signup for the Alliance’s WilliamsburgWeekends electronic newsletter and Facebook, as well as a link to the Alliance’s full site, www.williamsburgcc.com. The new mobile site is also QR (Quick Response) code-enabled, allowing users to simply point their device’s camera at the code to access the site. The Alliancewill be including QR codes on many of its publications in the coming year, such as the Historic Triangle brochure that is featured at welcome centers and provided to AAA offices.
