Restaurant Review: The Whaling Company

The Whaling Company has long been recognized by locals as Williamsburg’s seafood specialist. They have the absolute freshest fish in town and the chef, Tony Giallambardo, is always happy to prepare menu items any way you like.  The ambiance at The Whaling Compnay has the charm of an old, comfortable, New England style boathouse. The staff members take great pride in the professionalism and caring attitudes that make you feel right at home.

The menus offer a variety of fresh fish, hand-cut steaks, seafood, and chicken.

The Whaling Company is locally owned by Stephen and Vicki York. Many of the employees have been with the restaurant for decades.  One of their long term waiters, Mike Boatwright, was on the opening team in 1980. Another long term waiter, Sonny Gideon, fostered one of more popular dishes: The Sonny Delight! Yet another . Marybeth Davis, and her entire family take great pride  in doing the Christmas décor every year. And then there’s Jermaine Jacob, whose  parents both worked at the Whaling Company when he was born.
