Restaurant Review: Old Chickahominy House Since 1955

Old Chickahominy House offers visitors a taste of the Old South. From the big front porch to the sweet tea, everything about Chickahominy exudes southern charm.

Located on Jamestown Road near Rt. 199, Chickahominy has been serving locals and visitors since 1955.

Breakfast is served from 8:30 – 10:15 am.

Try the Plantation Breakfast, which includes Old Virginia ham, country bacon, sausage, two eggs, grits, hot biscuits, and coffee or tea.

For lunch, try the  ham biscuits and Brunswick stew. You won’t find biscuits like this anywhere else. They’re flat, almost like an even flatter Pop Tart. This allows the salty flavor of the Virginia ham to be the star of the show.

TIP: Order Miss Melinda’s special and you get the biscuits, stew, a fruit salad, a homemade piece of pie, and coffee or tea.

Lunch is served from 11:30 – 2:30.

When you go, arrive early and prepare to wait. If going for lunch, you may call after 8 am and make a reservation for the first seating of lunch.

Reservations are not required, but if you would like to make one, call 757-229-4689
