Candlelight Concert Series at Bruton Parish Church

Candlelight Concerts
Continuing a tradition begun by our 18th-century organist, Peter Pelham, Bruton Parish presents more than 120 recitals and concert programs annually in its Candlelight Concert series. Instrumental and choral groups from all over the United States and other countries perform in our historic church, interspersed with organ and harpsichord recitals by our own splendid musicians.  Concerts are held at 8 p.m. every Saturday throughout the year and also on most Tuesdays and Thursdays from March through December.  There is no charge for the concerts, but a freewill offering is received at each program. Monthly concert schedules are posted at the Church and the Bruton Shop and are available at the Parish House and online.
TIP:  Parking is permitted on the Duke of Gloucester Street during worship services and concerts.

2010-2011 Peter Pelham Concert Series

About once a month, the musicians of Bruton Parish present special programs honoring Peter Pelham (1722-1805), the church’s first organist, who served for nearly 50 years in the late 18th century.  Some Peter Pelham concerts are presented in the evening, while others are part of the Church’s regular worship services. Recent concerts have included advent lessons and carols, French organ masters, Mozart’s “Coronation Mass,” and a tribute to Ralph Vaughan Williams on the 50th anniversary of his death.  Please clic k HERE for brochure, ticket information, etc.
