Williamsburg Flagship Festival At Yankee Candle

Yankee Candle on Richmond Road will hold its first-ever Williamsburg Flagship Festival this Saturday and Sunday.

The event is FREE to the public and offers attendees a sneak peak into the company’s creative process, new scents for 2011, and the artists behind the candles’ labels.
Available first-come first-serve to attendees is a new limited-edition 2010 Macintosh-scented Yankee Candle Flagship Festival Jar. Each of the candle’s five collectable labels were inspired by a different renowned artist and translated into an exclusive canvas print. Attendees will have a chance to win one of the five prints in a drawing during the festival.

Events run 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday.

11-4 Meet and Greet the Yankee Candle Fragrance Committee~ you get to help decide the 2011 candle fragrances for Yankee Candle. Come out and sample some new candle scents and vote on your favorites.

10-2 Ne Qwa signing ~ Yankee Candle Artist Barbara Belcher. A Lifelong Williamsburg artist who takes her inspiration from nature and things close to her heart. She comes from a creative family. Her talent comes from both of her Grandmothers. She was born and grew up in Williamsburg. Yankee Candle ornament designed exclusively for the first annual 2010 Flagship Festival. The ornament shows her love of Yankee Candles and how they spread warmth, love and joy into your home.

11-4 Tasting and Demos of the “Virginia’s Finest” Companies. Join us to sample local products made in Virginia’s Finest companies.

12-2 ~ Meet one of the Big Wicks of the Yankee Candle Family. Steve Farley, our president will be here to listen to what you’ve got to say and answer questions about Yankee Candle. Plus, he’ll be signing Limited Edition Yankee Candle Flagship Festival Collector’s Candles & Byer’s Choice Chandler designed exclusively for Yankee Candle. He’s anxious to hear what you’ve got to say, so don’t miss this opportunity.

1-4 ~ Department 56 Artist ~Scott Enter~ In the past 20 years, Village artist Scott Enter has designed hundreds of Village lit buildings, accessories and general animated pieces. “Collectors are always asking us to add more sound and animation to their Villages, which prompts me to keep thinking creatively on how to make the Villages come alive.”

6-8 Artful Life of Wine ~ Face To Face Gathering with Yankee Candle Facebook Fans ~ . Artist Richard DePaul will be signing his Williamsburg Prints. Virginia Wineries ~ James River Cellars & Saudie Creek provided samples of their wonderful wines. Homemade Fudge samples from the Yankee Candle Fudge Area as well as Popcorn from Popcornopolis
