Jesse Williams appears in “What Holds the Future?”

In the wake of Virginia’s declaring independence, a group of house slaves abandoned by the British royal governor are brought together just minutes before being auctioned by the patriot government. Helpless to influence their fates, they share their hopes and express their fears. Old wounds and new terrors surface as the time approaches when they must confront the shrouded future.

“What Holds the Future?” will be presented on Saturday, September 25, at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., on the Governor’s Palace grounds. Limited seating, with reservations required.

NOTE:  Jesse Williams, currently stars in the ABC hit drama Grey’s Anatomy. He has also starred in The American Dream and The Sandbox at the Cherry Lane Theatre. His film credits include The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 and Cabin in the Woods, which will be released in January. He appeared on the television shows Greek and Law & Order. Before he became an actor, Mr. Williams taught American studies, African studies, and English at a Philadelphia public high school.
