Revolutionary War military and artillery demonstrations and special interpretive programs at the Yorktown Victory Center mark the 229th anniversary of America’s momentous victory at Yorktown on October 19, 1781. Visitors of all ages can enroll in “A School for the Soldier,” a special interpretive program, to determine if they would have been fit for service in General Washington’s army. Special weekend programs also held at the Yorktown Battlefield, administered by the National Park Service. Townwide events on Yorktown Day, October 19, include a parade and patriotic ceremonies. Save close to 20% with a value-priced combination ticket with Jamestown Settlement, a museum of 17th-century Virginia: $19.25 adults; $9.25 (ages 6-12). Children under 6 free. Free parking.
